Dr. Kramer part of local
college anniversary celebration
In October 2003 a Dordt
college film crew came to interview Dr. Allan Kramer,
Sioux Pharm President. The interview is part of a video
production featuring Dordt College alumni. The video production
is part the 50th anniversary celebration of Dordt College. In
addition to Dr. Kramer, Sioux Pharm, Inc. and Sioux
Biochemical, Inc. employ nearly a dozen Dordt College
alumni.
Dr. Kramer speaks at
economic development conference.
In June 2003 Dr. Kramer was invited
to participate in a conference on economic development. The
conference was sponsored by Professional Developers of Iowa
(PDI). The mission of PDI is to promote new companies and
technologies. Dr. Kramer participated on
a panel focusing on biotechnology and
research. The conference was held at Village East Resort in
Okoboji, Iowa.
Iowa Governor visits Sioux
Biochemical
In March 2003, Iowa Governor Tom
Vilsack toured Sioux Biochemical as part of a trip through
Northwest Iowa to promote economic development and biotechnology in
Iowa. The Governor toured the Sioux Biochemical facility and
afterwards held a press conference in the Sioux Biochemical
corporate headquarters. Sioux Biochemical was founded by
Dr. Kramer and provides quality research proteins to the research
community. Sioux Biochemical is also developing technology for the
isolation of proteins from transgenic grains.
Sioux Pharm featured in
IPTV segment
Iowa Public Television recently aired
a segment featuring various biotech businesses, including Sioux
Pharm, located in Sioux Center, Iowa. The segment was part of the
Market to Market program, which is aired weekly on Iowa
Public Television.
Dr. Kramer attends
Biotechnology conference
In June 2002, Sioux Pharm President
Dr. Allan Kramer, attended BIO 2002 International Biotechnology
Conference & Exhibition. The conference was held in
Toronto, Canada. Dr. Kramer was part of a panel discussion titled,
Agriculture's New Horizons : Engineered Proteins from Plants and
Animals. The panel was chaired by Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack. Other
participants on the panel were Dr. David Faber, President of Trans
Ova Genetics and Dr. James Robl, President of Hematech.
